How to Make a K-pop Line Distribution (Step by Step) →

      What is a line distribution?

A line distribution measures how long each member of a K-pop group sings in a song. Fans usually count seconds rather than lyric lines, because one long note can last longer than three short lines.

Groups split parts by vocal range, rap and dance positions, and the concept of the song, so distributions are rarely equal. Comparing them across songs shows who gets the center parts and who is underused.

The fairness score here is the evenness of the distribution. 100 means every member sang exactly the same time. The lower it is, the more the song leans on a few members.

      FAQ

How do I make a line distribution?

Add the members, load the song, and hold each member's pad while they sing. The maker adds up the seconds, shows each member's share, and lets you export the chart or a video.

Can two members sing at the same time?

Yes. Hold more than one pad, or switch to tap on / tap off mode. Each member gets the full time they were singing, so totals can add up to more than the song length.

How is the fairness score calculated?

It is Pielou's evenness index: the entropy of the members' shares divided by the highest possible entropy for that group size, shown as a percentage. Equal time for everyone gives 100.

      Is my song uploaded anywhere?

No. Audio and video files are played from your device. YouTube songs play in the official YouTube player. Your timings are stored only in this browser.

Does the exported video include the song?

No, the video is silent so it stays free of copyright problems. It starts at 0:00 of the song, so you can line it up with the audio in CapCut, InShot or any editor.

Why are the group presets different from the current lineup?

Lineups change. Presets are a starting point: rename, add or remove members and pick your own colors before you start timing.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The pads support multi-touch, so you can hold two members at once. Video export works best in Chrome on Android and Safari on iOS 17 or later.

      Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark beyond a small site name in the corner of exports.
